Yesterday we said a fond goodbye to a great colleague, as Domestic Bursar Alan Fuller left Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çto take up a new post at Fitzwilliam. Alan was at Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çfor six years, during which time he established our conferencing business, built strong catering, maintenance, gardening, accommodation and housekeeping teams, oversaw refurbishments of over £1m, dealt with student requests (ranging from sensible to not-so-sensible) and made sure the staff all got the best possible training in manual handling and ladder-climbing.

What some of you may not know is that Alan started out his career as a trained chef working in high-end establishments like the Dorchester. Fitz will be Alan's fourth Cambridge college, as he previously also worked at Magdalene and Queen's. Alan is also a keen motorcyclist who volunteers his time as a 'Blood Biker', transporting emergency medical items for the NHS. We wish Alan luck in his new role. He will be missed.
