Over 200 members of the 鶹Ӿcommunity gathered in London last Thursday to celebrate the College’s 60th anniversary at a special black-tie dinner hosted by the Rt Hon. Lord Mayor of the City of London, Alistair King.

The Lord Mayor—son of the late Jack King, Wolfson’s former Bursar and later Vice-President—welcomed guests to Mansion House, his official residence, located in the heart of the City of London.

After a drinks reception and sung grace, 鶹Ӿalumni, staff, students, Fellows, and members sat down for dinner amidst the soaring columns of the building’s grand eighteenth-century architecture.

Between courses, guests were treated to a performance by the renowned King’s Men, the acapella group of the Choral Scholars of the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge, as well as speeches from the Lord Mayor and Wolfson’s President, Professor Dame Ijeoma Uchegbu.

“A fabulous night,” said Ijeoma, “I chatted to virtually everyone as they left, and they all said how much they enjoyed the event. A few were even emotional as they spoke to me!”

A huge thank you to all who joined us for this spectacular evening – and to the Lord Mayor, for offering us the chance to truly celebrate in style!
