What does it mean to write with clarity? We hear pithy maxims about clear writing all the time: ‘Good writing is clear thinking made visible’, ‘Cut the jargon!’, ‘Never use two words when one will do’, ‘Don't’ hide the break in logic behind the Em dash!’
In this workshop, we will explore what it means to write with clarity and concision. Using the ‘Paramedic method’, we will invite each participant to pick up their editorial pens and don their editorial hats to conduct a precision surgery on sample pieces of writing—whether provided or BYOW (Bring Your Own Writing). Through this process, we will demystify the various components that make a piece of writing clear, concise and coherent.
Join us in May for an extended writing retreat!
